this is something that makes me panic and dissolve, sometimes. sometimes it seems fine, and like as good a measure as any other - "one billion red chinese can't be wrong" kinda thing. other times it seems like a very random thing. chance is what brings people in the same place at the same time.
Do you propose that the quality of one's friends, the quantity of said friends, or something different be used as the assessment criteria? (I now kind of want to make a rubric to work this out in a way that makes sense and can be universally applied!)
