New. Plan.

This new plan is much more sustainable than the old New. Plan.
So what if the comments make no sense.

Anyway, it's really Tuesday the 3rd of October, so I better get back to the future.

Don't do that, you might get hurt.

I've just come home from a really great night of boxing. It was just me and Mr. Racoon today and he said I've made some real progress with technique. He put the pads on and walked me up and down the floor what felt like a hundred times, telling me all the hundreds of things I was doing wrong, and then, towards the end, I did feel some kind of "click". Then we did some defence moves. There's these beautiful dance-like moves called "slipping". Also some "ducking", "weaving" and "bobbing". As I was "slipping" I thought; this is where rap dancing comes from. Obviously not the only place, but there's a rap dancing move that looks to me, ~now~, like a stylised version of "slipping".

My teacher, Mr. Racoon told me some bad news today which is that he's got what he wanted - a real fight, soon. I was aghast.

"Oh, please don't do that," I said, "you might get hurt!"

Safe and sound.

Mum's safe and sound back at home.
What a great trip that was.

Mum's here.

Gray's playing "Oh Boy" by Troy Romeo. Mum's reading the paper and doing the crossword at my kitchen table, wearing my winter dressing gown as well as all her own clothes.

Last Saturday Gray's parents flew out from Perth airport and half an hour later my mum arrived, which was kinda handy, since I was there already anyway. :~) Mum and I went on a roadtrip in a little white hired car. We went to Geraldton for my dad's sister's 60th birthday and we met and re-met all the cousins and their children - 11 children under 8 years old. Oh, the cuteness. We took the inland way home, via the wheatbelt where Mum grew up. The wildflowers were amazing. Everlastings. Kangaroo paws. We stopped in York overnight at a beautiful old hotel. We arrived just in time for my Tuesday bellydance class, and I've been working ever since, catching up on Manager stuff, you know. Two evenings in a row in meetings. Today is free though, and we're taking Mum to Bigsplat for some coffee and to see some sights.

It's been a great visit so far. It's good to have Mum here.

And now for some Kierkegaard.

I'd rather be a swineherd, understood by my swine, than a poet misunderstood by men.

Safe travels, friend.

Brunch at Apple's house.

We're going walking this morning - down through the karri forest slopes of a national park nearby, to a waterfall that flows in winter and spring. There are already lots of flowers out - purple and yellow flags, hovea, some orchids too. Then we're stopping at a farmer's house (he grows apples) for brunch.

Back in time for bellydance this afternoon.
